The really great news is that there is no ongoing maintenance of Eko Electric Bikes electrical components. Just remember to keep your battery charged and your good to go! Under normal use the motor will not need readjustment or maintenance other than to be kept clean externally but all usual Bicycle maintenance is required like on any bike.

Yes, our e-bikes are totally safe to ride in the rain. The electric components will not be harmed.
Only only products that are received defected. If you receive a product with a defect, please contact us immediately to process a return. Defective e-bikes will be repaired or replaced with a new one depending on the defect. Items that are returned not defective will be subject to a 15% restocking fee.
A slight sound is audible while riding. This varies during the different combinations of electric gears in conjunction with the mechanical gears. Compared to a car or motorcycle, electric bicycles are one of the most quiet modes of transportation around. Go green and eliminate sound pollution too!

Most people don’t. A typical rider can experience 30 to 45 miles per charge with stop and go city riding. It all depends on how much you pedal and how much you use the electric motor. The best way to achieve more mileage is to pedal when you can and only use the motor when needed. This will maximize the distance your electric bike will go. If you are planning longer trips, then yes, we would suggest an extra battery. On average, a battery has a 7 year life expectancy.
When riding around town and parking your electric bike, we highly recommend purchasing a bike lock that is of good quality to protect your e-bike from theft. Please remember to use lights and signals when riding at night. The best electric bike ride, is a safe one!
Our electric bike batteries are: LiMnO2-Lithium Manganese Oxide made by Samsung.
According to the U.S. government, lithium ion batteries aren’t an environmental hazard. “Lithium Ion batteries are classified by the federal government as non-hazardous waste and are safe for disposal in the normal municipal waste stream,” says Kate Krebs at the National Recycling Coalition. While other types of batteries include toxic metals such as cadmium, the metals in lithium ion batteries – cobalt, copper, nickel and iron – are considered safe for landfills or incinerators (Interestingly enough, lithium ion batteries contain an ionic form of lithium but no lithium metal).
There are currently no recycling programs but as the use of e-bikes, scooters and cars grow there is a very strong possibility this will be introduced soon.
Our e-bikes typically get 20 to 43 miles per charge for the 500W models. Using the motor while pedaling will greatly increase the distance of the battery charge and make those hills twice as easy. Use a nice mix of pedaling and throttle and you will see your mileage increase dramatically. Plan your trips accordingly.
With throttle control, you have complete “on demand” power. You simply turn the throttle when you want assistance from the motor. Pedal assist (PAS) refers to the motor starting when you pedal. Sensors detect when you are pedaling. This activates the motor to provide additional assistance.
The speed limits can be quickly and easily set at any speed.
1000W motor can be set at 15mph, 20mph or 29mph.
500W motors can be set at 15mph, 20mph or 24mph.
350W motor can be set at 15mph or 20mph.
It depends on the model. On average a full charge takes around 4 to 6 hours unless if you only have used your e-bike for a short time. Please see the specifications for your particular e-Bike. It’s best to plug in your electric bike after each ride as to keep the battery charged. However, always exercise precaution and don’t leave the battery to charge for more than 48 hours. The average cost to charge up your eKo electric bike is only about 5 pennies! How cool is that?!
YES, Absolutely. We ship directly to your door step anywhere in the Continental U.S. for FREE! The e-bikes are shipped within 24 hours of your order and arrive within 2-6 business days. Our distribution warehouse is located in San Francisco, CA.
No! You don’t need a license, registration, insurance or a helmet by law. You can feel free to ride as you would a regular bicycle. No more expensive insurance payments or registrations. Just ride and enjoy your e-Bike and feel good knowing your saving your environment and your wallet.
Our e-bikes are considered unisex bikes because of the position of the down bar. We have one size frame for the 26” and 29” tires. For shorter riders and kids the 20” tire bike is a very comfortable fit. If you are still unsure on size, a good idea may be to head to your local bike shop and take the measurements of the bike that fits you best.
Keep in mind, all e-bikes are heavier than regular bikes because of the motor and battery.
- Ride Regularly – Enjoy Your e-Bike!
- Do Not Leave Battery Completely Drained – It’s best not to leave an e-bike’s battery completely discharged for long periods of time. This can cause internal oxidation of the batteries which will affect the overall life of the battery.
- Avoid Extreme Hot or Cold – Very hot or cold temperatures can adversely affect the battery and shorten it’s life.
- Frequently Charge Up – If you want your eBike battery to last the longest, please recharge after every ride, regardless of the distance. After a short ride, you can begin to charge right away but after a longer ride it’s better to wait approximately 30 minutes and allow the battery to cool before starting the charge.
